FAQ.

My bath is in a very poor condition, the surface is badly chipped worn away in places, rusty and rough to the touch, how will it look after resurfacing?

In order to have a renewed looking bath, all worn areas that are chipped or rusty will be treated prior to resurfacing. Note that certain original characteristics in the bath surface such as surface contouring and miniscule black specks (pinholes) may still be evident in certain baths. These are in the original cast and no way detrimental to the use or the longevity of the resurfaced bath.

Will my bath have to be removed for resurfacing?

There is no need to do this as we will come to you and the bath will be resurfaced in situ.

How long will it take to resurface my bath?

It may take an estimated 4 to 5 hours to resurface a standard bath.

How soon can I use my bath after resurfacing?

You can use your bath after 48 hours.

Are there any odours or dust associated with the resurfacing?

We normally seal off the bathroom and use an extractor, whilst the work is being carried out. Therefore, little odour or dust escapes the bathroom.

Will my bath taps, waste and overflow have to be removed?

There will be no need for them to be removed. The main advantage of resurfacing is to save you the high cost of plumbing. We will not damage your existing bath taps, waste or overflow.

I have just redecorated my bathroom, will your operator take care when resurfacing my bath?

Yes. All your tiles, decor and carpets will be protected during the resurfacing process.

I am re-designing my bathroom involving substantial building work i.e. plastering, new floor, moving of WC & wash hand basin, new window, door etc. Should I have my bath resurfaced before during or after this work?

We recommend that bath resurfacing takes place after the refurbishment. This being because successful bath resurfacing cannot be achieved in building site conditions and our operators are advised not to commence work if these conditions apply.

How do I clean and maintain a resurfaced bath?

We recommend that you clean it with a non abrasive cream / liquid cleaner or bathroom mousse (always follow manufactures instructions). Do not allow your taps to drip and wipe away any excess standing water. See Care for your bath.

How long does a resurfaced bath last?

The average life expectancy of a resurfaced bath with the correct after care is estimated between 7 to 10 years. However, we have resurfaced baths from 15 years ago that are still going strong.

What should I do prior to your operator's arrival?

We require all shower screens and plastic soap bars to be removed and the wall behind to be in good clean condition. If you are unable to do this yourself, you may request that our operator remove these items for you, but the operator cannot be held responsible for any damage that may be caused. As sometimes these items have been in place for many years and can be difficult to remove. Please note that we are not responsible for the re-installation of any removed fittings. Also it is extremely helpful to remove any non fitted bathroom furniture, all toiletries and personal items from the bathroom.
